Volkswagen has released both of their 2011 Super Bowl ads online on Feb. 3. The Star Wars inspired Volkswagen commercial featuring a mini Darth Vader has gone viral in a big way. Yesterday we reported that The Force Volkswagen commercial has already reached over 1 million views on Youtube. Another 24 hours later almost 4 million have watched the kid in the Darth Vader costume start a car with his force on Youtube. It is quite possibly that Volkswagen has landed the best Super Bowl 2011 commercial with this ad, given the pre-game interest in it. I would not be surprised if The Force Volkswagen Super Bowl commercial will rank under the top 3 in the USA Today Admeter.

Star Wars is a big brand and the way Volkswagen has attached itself to it in the commercial is just awesome. The ad is at the same time funny, cool and cute.

Oh, Volkswagen is promoting the 2012 Passat in this Super Bowl ad. The car is pushed a bit aside by the pint-sized Darth Vader. Accompanied by John Williams’ iconic “The Imperial March,” the spot features the most infamous villain in the galaxy, a pint-sized Darth Vader, who uses the Force when he discovers the all-new 2012 Passat in the driveway. The two iconic brands leverage humor and the unforgettable Star Wars score to create an emotional spot and make Super Bowl ad history.

It clearly has already paid off for Volkswagen to unleash their Super Bowl ads early. The other VW Super Bowl ad is though still not doing that great. The Black Beetle Super Bowl Ad has now around 300,000 views so far.
